The depositor is paid the principal amount and accrued interest for the actual storage period (In the Bank's offices)
In the event of early termination of the agreement, the Depositor shall be paid the principal amount of the deposit without accrued interest. If interest has already been paid, the amount thereof shall be deducted from the principal amount of the deposit.

Notes:

*Withdrawal of funds from the account/deposit is carried out in Tenge24 application to Uzcard and Humo cards of Tenge Bank;

**Partial withdrawals are available up to the minimum amount;

***If the date of the next interest payment falls on a weekend/holiday, then the interest payment operation is postponed to the next business day;

****In accordance with the Tax Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Articles 30,366 and 382), non-residents of the Republic of Uzbekistan who do not have tax resident status will be taxed by the Bank in the amount established by the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan (10% of the amount of interest paid) from the interest (income) paid on the deposit.

Can I withdraw the full amount of the deposit before maturity?

Yes, early termination of the Deposit is carried out in accordance with the terms of the Deposit and exclusively at a Bank branch. The conditions for early termination are specified in the executed agreement or the accepted offer.

For deposits that allow partial withdrawals, the Depositor can withdraw funds without any loss down to the minimum balance specified in the deposit terms. For example, for the online “Convenient” Deposit, the minimum balance is set at 100,000 UZS, and the Depositor can make a partial early withdrawal remotely, leaving 100,000 UZS in the deposit.

How is interest calculated on deposits?

Interest is accrued from the day following the deposit placement up to the day preceding its return. No interest is accrued during the period when the depositor’s account is under seizure by judicial authorities.

In which currencies can I open a current/demand deposit account?

You can open a current account in the national currency of the Republic of Uzbekistan – the Som – as well as in foreign currencies: Kazakhstani Tenge, US Dollar, Euro, Russian Ruble, and British Pound Sterling.


What documents are required for a non-resident of the Republic of Uzbekistan to open a deposit?

A non-resident must provide the following information/documents:

  • Original ID document (with border crossing stamps):
    A non-resident may have multiple passports; the one containing the border crossing stamp must be provided.

  • Proof of temporary registration/residence:
    If staying in a hotel or similar facility, an extract from E-mehmon is accepted.

  • TIN (Individual Identification Number) issued in Uzbekistan.

  • Document confirming place of work/study/medical treatment:
    If the non-resident has been registered in the Republic of Uzbekistan for more than 15 days, this document is not required.

  • Non-resident KYC questionnaire:
    To be completed on-site using the bank’s form.

Opening a Deposit for Non-Residents of the Republic of Uzbekistan

Opening a deposit for non-residents of the Republic of Uzbekistan is carried out exclusively in person at a Bank branch during onboarding, following the initial identification process.

The initial identification of a non-resident is performed upon submission of the required set of documents. The review of the submitted documents takes no more than one business day.

A deposit may be opened only after successful identification.

Non-residents who do not provide a certificate confirming their tax residency in accordance with the Tax Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Articles 30, 366, and 382) will be subject to a withholding tax of 10% on interest (income) earned from the deposit, in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Payment of Interest on Deposits Without Capitalization

Interest is paid monthly, starting from the day following the deposit acceptance, through automatic crediting to the depositor’s demand deposit account.

If the interest payment date falls on a weekend or public holiday, the crediting to the depositor’s demand deposit account is carried out on the next business day of the Bank.

How to Withdraw Interest or the Principal Amount of a Deposit to a Card of Another Bank via “Tenge24”

Partial Withdrawal of the Principal or Interest via “Tenge24”

Partial withdrawal of the principal amount or interest from a deposit via “Tenge24” is carried out to a bank card issued by JSCB “Tenge Bank”.

If the client does not have a JSCB “Tenge Bank” card, an instant virtual card can be issued in the “My Cards” section.

The client can then transfer funds from the JSCB “Tenge Bank” card to a card of another bank.

Transfers are subject to the Bank’s fees applicable at the time of the operation. Please note that HUMO-to-HUMO transfers are free of charge.

Non-residents who do not provide a certificate confirming their tax residency in accordance with the Tax Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Articles 30, 366, and 382) will be subject to a withholding tax of 10% on interest (income) paid on deposits by the Bank, as established by the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The tax residency status is confirmed by a certificate issued by the tax authorities for one (1) calendar year.
